How are you different from a gym (Weight Room)?

First most trainers at a gym have limited background when it comes to dealing with athletes. Many rely on the same type of program for each athlete without taking into account the individual's sport, physiology, and genetics.

Second most gyms have a turnover rate of 80-90%. Why ? Because the location, cost, and goals of a gym often do not match those of the participants. The Gym experience can be very boring as well. While there is a place for weight rooms, it is often not the best place to improve overall conditioning and strength.

Within my programs I put a great emphasis at being able to use your own body weight through its natural Range of Motion. Many weight machines just allow you to push against a fixed resistance without allowing your body to balance and move efficiently.

What is your program all about ?

Learning how to train like a pro without being one. Elite training does not have to be reserved for professional and Olympic athletes.

Fast and Fit offers training Camps, workout sessions, personal programs, seminars, and advice to those looking to improve conditioning and performance.

See our "What do we Train?" section for both a description and example of the training Fast and Fit offers.

I am training for an upcoming event- can you help ?

I can help you improve overall speed, acceleration, quickness, agility, balance, strength, core, coordination, power, jumping, flexibility, aerobic system, anaerobic system, etc.

Will you write me a training program?

Yes I can write a training program so it fits your needs and/or the event(s) you are training for.

Where do you hold your sessions?

Group sessions are held in open gymnasiums, studios, fields, or any green surface.

Individual sessions can be set up in the place you are most likely to do your training. In your basement, backyard, local playground, etc.

The answer is simple... Just about anywhere you want.

Who are you and what is your experience ?

I am one of the few Chartered Professional Coaches in all of Canada and one of the very few who have chosen to stay in the Maritimes. Along with this I am an environmentalist, master's athlete, businessperson, and dad. I appreciate a very busy lifestyle.

I have had success with the many athletes I have worked with in the past and created some life long friendships. I want to pass my knowledge on to a new group of athletes young and old. I believe an active lifestyle should be a lifelong affair.

Is Fast and Fit aimed primarily at Kids

No it is for all ages.

For the youngest kids (8-12 years) the focus is on fun activities that teach speed acquisition, flexibility, balance, agility, and technique.

For teens we will get more sport specific and the intensity increases.

For Adults the focus is dependent upon the desires of the participant. Do you wish to get in shape, improve conditioning, avoid injuries, set a personal best , or train for a specific event.

What do you do during a Group Dry-Land Session ?

Programs vary at each session. I do this so the participants learn new activities while training different systems.

An Example of a session would be:

5 Minute Aerobic Warm up Game

5 Minute of Dynamic Stretching

10 Minutes of Fast Feet and Agility Work using equipment

5 Minutes of Active instruction on improving power in your stride/push/throw/etc.

20 Minutes Core or Strength workout

5 Minute Cool down Activity

How Large are your sessions?

Range from one-on-one private sessions to large groups.

Group size is usually limited to 20.

Do you offer Personal Training and programs as well?

Yes, I can meet you in the comfort of your own home and make a personal plan that suits your sport, needs, and schedule.
